There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. Manifest your glory It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. Nuns on the scene were given pens and were free to explore and unfold the means by which they came to be My loving god, I am grateful to be here! I fear you cause I'm so dirty My heart is filled with joy and curiosity! I am ashamed so I offer myself to thee Stance so grim, yeah! Run from sin, yeah! Smile within yeah And You can win yeah The University of Kentucky used those journals for a study Some had more shame, fear and anxiety Others wrote more words of content, love and appreciation Decades later they came to check on their situation ONLY 30% of negative survived While 90% of grateful were still alive Stance so grim, yeah! Run from sin, yeah! Smile within yeah And You can win yeah Science studies trends not truths so be critical about making conclusions Nothing's ever absolute to avoid sharing any delusions... The study focused on females so hormones may come into play Maybe the happy ones had better genetics or their outlook made them stay So they studied other demographics, looked at the patterns and commons Gratitude journals affect your mind-state but they won't solve all your problems Research showed that it'll help for depression but won't do much for anxiety They will, however, improve body image and increase relationship quality Gratitude is directly correlated with longevity This means When you feel thankful you live longer. you change your destiny Your attitude can alter your lifespan so increase your resiliency What you appreciate will appreciate this is your remedy Harvard university to their students they say Write 3 things you are grateful every day Doesn't matter big or small As long as it means something to you That’s all So hey you listening to this Write What are you grateful for now Make that list: Gratitude is directly correlated with longevity This means When you say thank you you live longer. you change your destiny Your attitude can alter your lifespan so increase your positivity What you appreciate will appreciate this is your remedy” #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthawarenessweek #mentalhealthawarenessmonth #gratitude #gratitudeappreciationvisualizationeveryday #gratitudemeditation #gratitudeattitude #gratitudequotes #gratitudelesson #grateful #gratefulnblessed #research #mentalhealthrecovery #mentalhealth2022 #mentalhealthawareness2022 #mentalhealthawarenessweek2022 #mentalhealthawarenessmonth2022 With all my gratitude to my lovely Russell Gray, Danielea Lewis, Chris Gimby, Donald Scar, Dee Liz, Kilook Chris NerDancer, Allgra Stodolsky, Hannah Genders Boyd, Mathias Jamie Garcia, Carlos Cornejo, and to my mentors on this journey into the world of #PositivePsychology #talbenshahar #robertbiswasdiener #mihalycsikszentmihalyi #Ellenlanger #Bobcohen #angeladuckworth #caroldweck #martinseligman #barbarafredrickson #shawnachor #jonathanheidit #danielgilbert #eddiener #toddkashdan #SonjaLyubomirsky #naomicotti #tommaloney #borianazaneva #positivepsychgoloy
Looking Bad - a Hilarious Music Video on Self Perception 🤣

Looking Bad - a Hilarious Music Video on Self Perception 🤣

You'll either like this or you will not ‘get it’ (music wise)....however I’m here to let you know that: YOU LOOK GREAT! ...and it’s really not about you. 😉 One of my favorite quotes is “I will tell you a secret on how to get out of hell: remove the focus from yourself” (unknown). This music video story is toying with objectification and comedy, and aiming to reach the point that is hiding behind desirability: Our inner yearning for connection. Desirability is a part of our human experience. The yearning to be desirable to others. To ourselves. It is an enigma that we can either use or abuse. We celebrate it and we shame it. Or the lack of. Ellen Langer of Harvard University found that when we are very mindful of others, and being curious, engaged with, noticing new things about others, it is then that we actually come across and more loveable and even more charismatic (Langer, Ellen J. Mindfulness). People actually love us more when we are curious about them. It seems that the journey from ‘seeking others approval’ to arriving at ‘generating self validation’ is what results in others approval, based on Ellen’s work. My experimental video "looking bad/looking good” makes fun of how obsessed we all are about it. To me it is a catch-22-with-myself. On one hand I’m unleashing a "yasss queen"-show-off-celebrating-self-physically-objectifying-playfully WHILST actually honing in on the importance provoking removing-the-focus-from-desirability-and-shifting-to-an-inner-connection. And promoting a focus-on-self-satisfaction-that-is-not-outer-determined. Centered around who we are, and really - how we are for others. For me, it is important to share that while I am attempting this light hearted banter and cautiously openly doubting myself: am I partaking in an impoverishing “desirability society”? Or rather can I hope that this step penetrates this culture to promote a thoughtful message? The bottom line of this is raising the inquiry for anyone who is desiring being desirable: You want attention? Notice others. You desire affection? Love others. You seek approval? Acknowledge people for who they are. Rather than how they look . Do You want to look good? Well, as I say in the song “just look around, be out there and look at what is happening out there, get out of your head and be out there….” and notice that we all just wanna look good - ..to YOU. And now, You’ll know what to do. ---------------------------------------- This whole project started when I spoke with my buddy Euan at our Landmark training. I was astonished to notice that I was holding back on sharing my shortcomings because I wanted to look good to him. It was a breakthrough for me. Later that night I went out to sketchy beats (another step for ‘being unleashed’) jam night. As I began to go on about how “we all want to look good” gradually this song articulated. A mesmerized girl faced me with her hand drum, as if she was on that journey with me, following every word as they came about. When the punchline “they all just wanna look good to ...YOU” suddenly she got so present to it too and bursted into the most encouraging empathetic laughter!! For me it meant validation. And it was wonderful, and I decided to record it. And Here we are. I joyfully reminisce filming this during valentine's day weekend with the lovely married couple whom I admire (they both overcame covid19 this year and now just got a puppy!) and rejoice embracing my own self expression. Official Music Video I LOVE PEOPLE

Link to song on Spotify https://open.spotify.com/track/23jy6U37PPApaRBe8mYxJG?si=f1588fe8793247a0 Today is Humanity Day; when we celebrate all things human we love. I am dedicating this song to YOU, all humans of the world beautiful ones who I know, and who I’ve yet to meet, and the rest all forever. Let me tell you about this song. It is a grey December morning in Scotland. I wake up realizing I had missed my alarm. As I grab my bag hastily stumbling outside, my thought is “Bad Karma Day”. So on my way to work I call my sister to distract myself, only to get a response by her screaming baby full volume inside my earbuds. Did I mention PMSing. I pass by a car window only to notice my hair was doing it’s own thing as usual, so uncooperatively. Crap. Lifelessly paddling to campus along the bumpy grey brick road. I pass by a majestically lit sign at The Pear Tree Garden pub. In the corner of my eye I vividly catch a shockingly large screen. It is larger than the building and brighter than daylight. Projecting on it is a beautiful video of a warm fireplace. I fantasize for a few seconds ``my god if I ever-” but immediately “definitely not me, far from it”. Somehow, a brainwave challenging my assumption, Landmark's coaching repeats in my mind ‘Bold Leadership is Acting Against All Disagreement’ to me this means my practice is to confront my inner state, place my thoughts aside, and get into action. Warner Erhard’s quote on my bedroom door “The world doesn't care..how you *think*..or how you *feel*… look for yourself and see that the world only moves for you when you act”. So now my fears and thoughts are distinguished. I place them aside together with my bicycle which I lock to the street poll. I walk in. Yikes. An intimidating good looking bartender asks me “Can I help you?” I freeze. “Um like, your large screen outside is incredible..! Maybe I can ask -” Bartender swiftly points ahead “Right behind you, do you see that corner table? Our manager, his name is Brian”. My thoughts get louder 'I am a loser' 'hopeless' 'Bad outfit'. Very familiar feelings. Snowball. I did not expect a snowball. I have never imagined such a snowball in my life. Definitely not today. Brain will turn to be of the kindest people I am about to meet. In fact until today, our entire team still calls him “Brian Sweetheart” due to how I saved his name on my phone, later shared with them. Melting away I learn right there about the kind of person he is. How much he cares about the people in his life, adores his daughter to tears, how committed he is to those who deal with mental health. Still hesitant for no good reason, I share my work with him, to speculate costs of renting that screen for my graduation in 2 years. Sharing how I co-produce music videos on mental health, with young people, to reach the public. Brian with incredible generosity comments “let's bring several projects on mental health together for a big event?”. Blown away is me right now. What Brian doesn't know is that for the past 10 year I had this dream. I called it “PosiFest”. A theme park with research based wellbeing games, practices, performances. Long collected written pieces in plan were accumulated for 'one day.. when I am sixty or so'. This fantasy started at Harvard when I sat in the PSY1504 Happiness course and decided to dedicate my life to bringing such helpful information out of the ivory tower to the main street. My heart blooms and booms as I leave the Pear Tree, still not believing this could ever happen. My recent declaration to overcome my vocal fears and make music, was hesitant in this practice. However, today that began as "bad karma" is my first time ever in my life when I feel certainty like this: melody, words, instruments: This Is My Song. Today. I love people. YOU are amazing. I celebrate what we can do. What we ARE doing. Together. Belonging. POSIFEST is a celebration of people and of what we could do for each other. It's a celebration of my dreams and us all being Care Bears with our shared heart. Together, we create fun and belonging. We declare into existence a loving world that cares CREDITS: ILP landmark PosiFest humans Tal Ben-Shahar & Positive Psychology Research Landmark Worldwide Peter, Julia, Elijah, Jacob and Gabriel Adefowora. So PLEASE **Share, Complain or Collaborate** (after you watch it) ... PLEASE ENJOY! This song and music video based on research by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi: Flow, the secret to happiness. CHORUS Lost In The Flow Time no longer exists as I’ve got great inner of clarity a state of ecstasy beyond the boundaries of ego VERSE 1 Mihai cheek sent me high Professor of psychology Did a lot of research And it took him awhile He studied hundreds of people over long periods of time Spend the years thoroughly exploring the depths of the creative mind To find That happiness lies In the balance In finding that sweet spot Between skill --and challenge Going over your capabilities can trigger your anxiety But too little adversity can put you in a state of apathy 120 bits per second of mental processing power is all you’ve got. ( In the flow only the process exists, everything else does not. It’s like you're not conscious, your body’s just reacting. The creation continues, nothing is distracting. Completely wrapped up in an activity for its own sake. It’s not about you anymore, it’s outside of you, it’s what you make. Puts you in the moment, to the past and present you’re blind. You forget about your troubles and leave them behind. CHORUS Lost In The Flow Time no longer exists as I’ve got great inner of clarity a state of ecstasy beyond the boundaries of ego CHORUS Lost In The Flow Time no longer exists as I’ve got great inner of clarity a state of ecstasy beyond the boundaries of ego VERSE 2 The Canadian shuswap region had a native tribe every couple of decades they relocated to change the vibe so the young have new places To explore struggles to overcome to keep them in check to keep their bodies and Minds from going numb a wandering soul sitting at home contem-plating fate found a way to improve- to relax to meditate took some balls started juggling them- creating patterns flying above the sorrow above the sky beyond the Rings of Saturn an achiever in business land trying to be the best flowing through the Grind finally achieving success by contributing innovating taking pleasure in work ignited an undying flame not a mere firework a hoodrat growing up with little alone and scared not very talkative developed a language without words became one with the music and the problems just scattered he was a comet flying through space nothing else mattered CHORUS Lost In The Flow Time no longer exists as I’ve got great inner of clarity a state of ecstasy beyond the boundaries of ego I aim that the viewers experience will be of a journey beginning with enticement of the state-of-the-art visuals and curiosity about the proposed misconception and conflict. What Do You Want to Create? Maoz Tzur / Rock of Ages by Shalhavit-Simcha Cohen

About this music video, Hanukkah, and the stories that we choose: interview with Shalhavit-Simcha: Part 1 https://youtu.be/td_8tEXsqBs Part 2 https://youtu.be/vW0Uhf1xl5c Part 3 https://youtu.be/QBypvp6yv3k When I looked at the ancient Aramaic poem from the 13th century, I decided to translate them; to shed some light on the deeper meaning of those archaic stories. The broken text comes with the translation. Read it here: https://bit.ly/3cW3z6c #Kaballah #AncientHebrew #Arameic #Hanukkah #PosiFest #ShalhavitSimcha Maoz Tzur is an ancient Hebrew song. While it is sung during Hanukkah, it covers several stories in the life of our nation. In each part describing the trouble and how the mighty hand redeemed us. Now according to our folklore we were CREATED in the image of the CREATOR, so we are therefore CREATORS ourselves. We CREATE our own destiny, especially with our own efficacy and agency over our lives. Things happen and it is up to us what we CREATE with what happen. The meaning we assign to ourselves at any moment. Moving from the passive victim to the active agent is not a new concept. I recall it in #JewishPhilosophy. Following that I found in research presented at the Harvard #Psych1504 course #PositivePsychology. This year I got an even more in depth transformative visit to taking ownership over my past as I participated in the #LandmarkForum. I highly recommend this adventure! I hope you enjoy! #landmarkgraduate @landmark_london #welovelandmark www.landmarkworldwide.com

#PosiPop, #PsyPop

PsyPop stands for Psychology Pop. It is a subset genre of PosiPop, which are positive songs that contain constructive messages.

Mental Wellness is defined as “a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community.” (The World Health Organization, 2004). Shalhavit-Simcha writes uncommon songs based on positive psychology research. “The Mind State of Flow”, “Is it OK to Have a Bad Day”, “Gratitude Journals” and “Body Image to Soul Image” are some of the first published songs. Stay tuned for "Self Perception", Powerful Empowerment", "I Love Human Beings" and coming asap is "What Do You Want to Create?".
